The property covers over 100 hectare (300 acres); with varied landscape ranging from tended botanical gardens and rolling green lawns by the plantation house to cultivated coconuts and cocoa groves along with vast areas of regrowth coffee and rain forest stretching into the middle of the island. Freshwater employs upwards of 20 people engaged in agriculture, hospitality and tourism. Guests are welcomed daily for various tours, arriving either from Aore Island (with a taxi pickup service) or from Santo by ferry boat just a short trip from Luganville. The Freshwater Plantation House Restaurant is open every day for breakfast and lunch featuring food directly from the plantation's own and local gardens. Tours of the plantation, the Bat Cave, Escarpment Lookout and Native Gardens are conducted before and after lunch. Extended tours of the island are also available.
